Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, probably best known stateside for his collaborations with Peter Gabriel, was a Pakistani singer who almost singlehandedly popularized Qawwali music, an centuries old Sufi form of praising Allah. Born into a prominent family of qawals, Nusrat has become the most famous because of his passionate, idiosyncratic style that is the result of over seven centuries of teachings. This documentary celebrates the life and work of this Sufi legend, and features concert performance as well as a rare look into Nusrat's life.
